A Proud Tradition Rooted in Faith
Founded under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus on February 13, 1898, Council 305 stands tall as the very first council in the beautiful state of Michigan. With Detroit as its designated city, it once embraced all Catholic gentlemen residing within its bounds.
By 1920, the spirit of unity and brotherhood saw our membership soar to an impressive 10,000 members. As the years unfolded, the Knights of Columbus introduced an initiative in the 1930s that allowed councils to become more localized, aligning with specific parishes. With this shift, the vibrant community of Council 305 transitioned, focusing on deeper parish connections.
In 2009, we found a spiritual home at Old St. Mary's.
